Annoying Clicking Sound || BMCC MFT

PostTue Sep 10, 2013 3:06 am

Can anyone share whether they've experienced this issue? My BMCC produces a strange clicking sound while recording audio.

Listen here:

(And please forgive my horrific color grade-----I was trying a look that failed. Miserably.)

Anyway, I discovered that someone else had this issue while recording with their Rode Video Mic, but I'm not using a line-in mic here; this is simply the on board mic. This sound appears whether I record raw or Prores. Tried different hard drives, and that didn't work. I always, always use Disk Utility to reformat----so it can't be a formatting issue. I believe I'm running firmware 1.3.

Thoughts?

Would love any feedback from you seasoned DP's about ways I may fix this issue.

Much kindness,

Easier to hear clicking in this vid. A tripod seems to mitigate the problem but clicks are still there in Prores/Raw files:

Corresponding with Blackmagic's Customer Service to send the camera in for service.....btw, customer service is absolutely stellar.
