Should be no need for snapping etc, Andy ... the 'Track Style' is (as the name suggests) attached to the track... even if you delete everything in the existing track,
but not the track itself, any caption / SRT that you add to the existing track will/should use the already existing track style.
The problem is that theres no way to simply copy an existing style to a
different track, either on the same timeline and/or to a
different timeline or project.
For what its worth, I use an empty template project for all my edits, with that template project containing an empty timeline that I've already configured with a Subtitle Track added and my specific Track Style settings already applied to that track. If, like me, your subtitles need the exact same Track Style for
every project (and/or you have other specific settings you always like to use for your timelines, like track naming conventions etc) then its a worthwhile and timesaving workflow.
Still, being able to save and recall and/or import and export Track Style presets seems like such a trivial and obvious addition that I'm hopeful that BMD will throw it in to some minor point release at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later.
Let's have a return to the glory days, when press releases for new versions included text like "...with over 300 new features and improvements that professional editors and colorists have asked for."
