Hi all,
I am running into some downscaling issues with the Decklink 4K Extreme and I am looking for some guidance to help solve my problem.
The setup: Resolve 17 Studio, Decklink 4K Extreme 12G connected to a 1080p calibrated monitor through SDI.
I have a few DPX sequences coming from a Scanity scanner in "unusual" resolutions. It's mostly archive material scanned with overscan in both 2K and 4K. Resolutions range from 2150x1900 to 4152x3164 and everything in between. Cropping will happen for finishing, but for the first stage of these projects I'd like to work in the native resolution of the scans for a variety of reasons.
Making sequences in these resolutions is easy enough, but I can't get the images downscaled to my 1080p monitor. Instead of having the Decklink scale the entire image to fit I am getting a center crop with no resizing.
In Project Settings > Master Settings > Video Monitoring I have Video Format set to HD 1080p 24. Am I wrong in thinking that the 4K Extreme should do a hardware downscale from my unusual sequence resolutions to 1080p?
What does work is picking Project Settings > Image Scaling > Output Scaling to 1080p with Scale entire image to fit, but this results in my sequence becoming 1080p and my export options being limited to 1080p.
So, ideally I am looking for a hardware downscale from my sequence resolutions to 1080p. Is this not achievable with the Decklink 4K Extreme?
Thanks in advance!
