How to render in and out in timeline? Render vs Export

PostFri May 20, 2022 10:21 pm

Dear community,
On another App, 'render' is different with 'export'. But in Resolve, 'render' is an export to final video.
Let's say i have a complicated timeline with so many effect and transition like below. Of couse the playback will be laggy and choppy. So i should render this clip + effect + transition based on in and out marker to make playback normal.
How to do that?

You can't, exactly.

The Reference Manual goes over what you can do with Cache in Part 2 called Improving Performance, Proxies, and the Render Cache.

Making them a Compound Clip might help here.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

There's also "Render in Place".
My disaster protection: export a .drp file to a physically separated storage regularly.
