Re: Davinci Resolve Says "Unsupported GPU Processing Mode"

Hi! I'm currently having the same problem.

Davinci Resolve was working fine until today. I couldn't open it at all no matter how many times I clicked on it or used Run as Administrator, so I uninstalled it then installed the latest version. I went through the other solutions and suggestions from other forum discussions but I'm now stuck with this one.

I tried to unselect Auto but my GPU Processing Mode option box is empty, and I can't seem to select AMD Radeon Graphics for GPU Selection. Also here are my CaptureLogs and NFO files: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... drive_link

Super grateful to anyone who could help me with this.

Uninstall all that NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit and NSIGHT stuff you have installed. Unless you have some good reason to have that installed.

Then download and install the NVIDIA 535.98 Studio driver. When you run the installer, select the Custom install mode, then select Clean install.

Hopefully doing all that will allow Resolve to properly detect your RTX3050 Laptop GPU.

If you still have issues after doing that, send an updated NFO and Resolve log.

Hi Dwaine! Thanks so much for your response, I really appreciate it.

I uninstalled NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit and NSIGHT, and I'm currently trying to install NVIDIA 535.98 Studio but I keep on encountering this message:

Image

I downloaded the driver from here:
Code: Select all
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/205035/

I also updated my Windows 11 to the latest version but the error message still persists.

Here are my updated CaptureLogs and NFO files:

I have no idea why downloading the driver from there wouldn't work. But try downloading from here, and see if this version works better:

Still got the same error message from the NVIDIA installer unfortunately. I also opened Davinci Resolve and it now can't detect my AMD Radeon at all.

I also updated the CaptureLogs file just in case: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... drive_link

(Reposting since I tried a bunch of other things after my last reply)

I used the download link but the NVIDIA installer still has the same error unfortunately. I tried using GeForce Experience too using this link
Code: Select all
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/
and tried to download an older studio driver but I still get the same error. NVIDIA just can't seem to detect my Windows 11.

I also did a System Repair and updated my AMD Adrenalin to the latest version but I'm still getting the Unsupported GPU error in Resolve.

Assuming you sent me the NFO file from your laptop, and assuming it really does have an NVIDIA RTX 3050 Laptop GPU, as the NFO shows, it makes no sense that the NVIDIA driver won't install.

That said, the Resolve logs only show the AMD CPU based iGPU.

If you open Windows Device Manager, and look in the Display Adapters section, is the NVIDIA GPU possibly disabled? That's the only thing that would seem to explain the observed behavior. If it IS disabled for some reason, enable, then run the NVIDIA driver installer again.

It finally works! I checked the Display Adapters in my Device Manager and turns out NVIDIA was hidden and had a Code 45 error.

Used the first two methods (Hardware and Devices troubleshooter then run DISM and SFC) from this site (https://www.technewstoday.com/hardware- ... connected/) but I ended up with a Code 32 error, so I uninstalled NVIDIA from the Device Manager then reinstalled it (based from this site: https://windowsreport.com/driver-error-code-32/). Now the NVIDIA installer and Resolve are working fine.

Hi, recently I randomly started having this error as well. Does anyone know how to fix it? My GPU also shows up as having -0 vram, but I've also reinstalled my drivers using DDU. Here are my logs and system information. I don't have an iGPU so I don't know why it isn't working

Thanks, Ryan

I don't see an obvious reason for the issue. Resolve GPU detect reports:

NVIDIA GPU Driver: 536.99, supports CUDA -1.-1

NVIDIA NSIGHT will cause that type of error, but the NFO doesn't show that or it's environment variables being used.

If you've removed the NVIDIA driver with DDU and installed again, I would be baffled what's causing this.

You are using the latest NVIDIA driver. Might be worth downloading an earlier Studio driver and DDU uninstalling the current 536.99 driver and then installing an earlier Studio version, like 536.67 or 536.40.

Hi Dwaine, thanks for the response back.

So far I've uninstalled the GPU driver using DDU and I've reinstalled my gpu drivers with the studio version 536.40, but the issue is still occurring. I know there's not much you could do but is there anything else that would be causing this? Should I take another log as well?

Thanks, Ryan

I don't know. Grasping for straws here:

The NFO shows lots of Application Errors from this EOS Utility:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Canon\EOS Utility\EOSUPNPSV.exe

Maybe having some interaction with the NVIDIA driver?

Also lots of Flight Simulator errors. Maybe interfering with the NVIDIA driver somehow?

Hi Dwaine.

Sorry for wasting your time, but I heard that clean installing fixed the issue for some so I decided to fresh start my pc and DaVinci now launches fine! Thank you for your quick responses on my other comments. I'll check out your suspected issues out when I reinstall everything.

Thanks, Ryan

You clean installed Resolve? Or you rebuilt the Windows drive?
