No Cloud Auto Backup Available

PostWed Jul 13, 2022 1:17 pm

I am working collaboratively on a shared project in the cloud.
I went to load a Project Backup from the Home screen but there are no backups listed.
Is this feature not working in 18beta???

Hi there
Yes we both have it turned on.
My local projects show previous backups. But not in the Cloud.

I have project backups enabled on a cloud project, but backups are not available from today...

something seems to be wrong with project backups on cloud projects.

Cloud projects are, in the cloud.

Currently u can copy them to ur local machine to make a backup.

We expect in the future there will be a more automated cloud backup process.

How do we get access to the cloud backups?

Thanks Ryan
We worked out that my colleague hadn't turned backups on!

Has this issue been resolved at all? We can't see any auto backups for any of our cloud projects. :(

For BM Cloud, should auto backup be turned on at the user level, and should the backup path be local?
Presumably, if backups are saved locally (as with a non-cloud project), then they will not be visible to other users?

It seems I can force resolve to make local backups for cloud projects as long as they're not multi-user collaboration.

Sorry, but I'm a little confused.

Wondering about this too. We might move all our projects to multiple cloud libraries on Blackmagic Cloud and having an automated backup solution would be pretty sweet!

With cloud editing, there are no backups saved in my local backup location. However, there are timeline backups.

How does one import timeline backups?

Is there any way to create project backups automatically when using cloud editing? this is a serious limitation.

Thanks

Curious about this too -- seemed to work for 18.5 and suddenly not working again for 18.6

I have this same question. Having local backups of old project versions would really be helpful. Can someone update us on this from Blackmagic?

Hi Peter, any updates to this? I'm shifting a lot of my company's projects to the Cloud, but am more anxious since I currently automate a nightly backup of all my local project libraries. I see a manual method of backing up libraries in the Cloud Library, but nothing automated.

Incremental backups are great. Specially when there's many people messing the project around.
I believe local backups should be available for cloud projects and I bet it wouldn't interfere with the cloud database.
Most of the times we take whatever got lost from the backup and manually paste it back on the current (online) project. It should be easy. Has it been implemented in DR19?

I'd also really appreciate Auto Backups for Cloud Projects.
Auto Backups have saved me a few times from hours if not days of work so far on local projects and I am sure, the day will come where I am in need of an incremental backup from a cloud project.

Thank you!

I've wanted to use this feature for the last year, but not without the safety net.

Timeline backups don't really work: What happens if you delete the timeline?
