New Nvidia driver 576.02 bug *edit 576.15 hotfix released

PostSun Apr 20, 2025 6:05 pm

Seems the latest Nvidia driver is borked.
Breaks GPU temp updates.
I updated to 572.83 when installing 20.0b and works fine.
Just a heads-up

Yes, i also lived same issue too. I've reported that issue to ASUS

I have Asus rtx5090 astral oc, i can see ram and mosfet tempretures even in 12vhpwr cable voltages but GPU temp sometimes stuck at 26 C. Its also shows 26 on task manager too but i can clearly monitor everything on hwinfo.

Nothing is issued fans are working perfectly too. They will fix it on next update i think.

I don't know all the details.
Was thinking of updating, saw this, and waiting until next release.
And then waiting for reports on that release.
Usually not a good thing to be early-adopter on drivers - ha
Much better over the years, but still.......

I haven't seen this myself. Task Manager has been reporting temps all along with 576.02 Gaming. (I see them change as the fan spins up and down.)
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Thank god I’m still on 566. I’m staying away from 57x for now.

Cool. Thanks for the update VMFXBV.

Isn't the hotfix based on the game ready driver? Will it work for the studio driver too?

PS:I updated to the 576.02 studio drivers and i have the same temperature bug

This is, IMHO, much ado about nothing, at least when it comes to Resolve. Not being able to readout GPU's temperature will not affect card's functionality as far as applications are concerned. It would be no different than back in the days when one cards were not providing a way to read what their temperature is. Keep calm and keep editing / color grading.

I run custom fan curves that are set from GPU temps.
When rendering projects with noise reduction, speed warp etc, the temps can crank up and then, so do the fans.
If the GPU temps are not reported, the fans don't spin up, and it could melt/ruin my $1,200 RTX 4080.
So not an issue to ignore imo.
Really amazing how fast Nvidia pushed out a fix

When i had stucked temp on that driver; fans and GPU clock speeds are totally normal. Try to use default fan curves until new driver ( fix ) released for safety

If one must use custom fan curves to prevent his card from malfunctioning / failing then one either has a defective card or is operating it outside manufacturer's specifications. No good card operating within specifications at default settings will malfunction when using its default fan curves and that is how 99% of the people use them. Overclockers and everyone else that doesn't has an option to go back to default, at least temporarily. So, again IMHO too much ado about practically nothing.
