trackers path from Sytheyes to Fusion

PostTue Jun 02, 2015 6:26 pm

Can someone who use Fusion with Syntheyes help me with this?
I got a shot solved with solved lens distiortion ready.
I looking for a way to export all tracker 2D path (from solved 3D point) from Syntheyes and import all to tracker node inside Fusion
I did try export .dfmo but Syntheyes only write out only 1 tracker per export(per file)
I did try others export (ex: Shake tracking file format, All tracker path, Discreet ASCII, etc...)
but fusion didn't seem to undesstand the others export format rather than .dfmo

And should I export before or after the lens workflow dialog?

not to mention what to choose when I import using dfmo.. what option should I choose? apply to Pivot, Pattern center, or track center?

what is the workflow here?
Thank you

The workflow is to use the exporter from Syntheyes that exports to a Fusion comp.
That's about it really. The latest version of Syntheyes even covers distortion if I remember correctly.
After your Syntheyes-created comp is inside Fusion, you can publish the 3D info of the tracked points to 2D screen space to drive whatever it is you need to connect to those points.

Hi, thank you fot the help
I got the part about Publish Selected point cloud, but I don't know how to convert that 3d position to 2D screen space. Is there a tool for that?
but
My goal is to have 3D points convert to 2D trackers inside the tracker tool.
So I can see my shot stabilize by using the tracker tool.

there is a node "Locator3d" which translate 3d scene xyz coordinates into xy screenspace coordinates

here is a old video on that:

That would be the Locator 3D tool as you can see in the videos above. If they aren't clear, please ask and we'll help you out further.

Of course if you're using Syntheyes anyway you can also do your stabilizing right in there. It does a real good job with that.

This one remind me of PointTo3D node in Nuke, which I kinda like to have in Fusion.

Yeah, I know. but still, I kinda want to have 2D path from 3D locator without having to Publish --> Connect every single 3D locator from the points cloud.
Maybe I should ask Syntheyes to have option to export as tracker tool, together with camera and points cloud.

After watched the video I notice something. I can't seem to open tool more than one at a time.
I set the Controls Limit to 5, to have 5 tools show up on the control panel on the right(red), but only 1 at a time I can open (blue)
Screenshot (139).png
5 limit controls but only 1 can open(active)

in the video I can see that at least 2 can be open(active)
What am I missing here?

Thank..

Uncheck the 'auto control close' option and you should be good to go.
