Resolve 15.1 ~ Issue

PostFri Sep 14, 2018 4:59 pm

Just A heads-up!

Just installed the new 15.1 and when launched, it stops at the "LOOKING FOR CONTROL PANEL" text and won't go past it to finish launching. Reverted back to 15.0.1 and all is well again. Never had it hang like this on any other version. Oy . . .

System:
Win 10

We can now see this.. If you have a multi-GPU Windows system, you need to set your GPU Processing Mode to Auto before upgrading to DaVinci Resolve 15.1.

This will be addressed in the next dot update.

Re: Resolve 15.1 ~ Issue !!! NOT FIXED !!!

PostTue Sep 18, 2018 12:08 am

So......

Downloaded and installed the supposed "fix" and it's still doing the same thing, hanging on "looking for panel".

WTF???

Nothing has changed in my system at least since ver 12xx and Resolve has never done this before. The ONLY new thing of course has been the latest Win 10 updtaes but nothing else has been affected.

The only thing I noticed is this: after I install/uninstall anything, I always run CClenaer to clean the registry of invalid entries. What I saw was the list of entries that for Windows firewall which I gennerally see after an uninstall. So now this is the 2nd time I've had roll back to 15.0.1, and Windows firewall has not prompted me to "OK" Resolve to pass through.

Please fix this!!!

In Windows Control Panels, Programs and Features, what are the last 4 digits of the DaVinci Resolve version number? If it's 0023 or 0024, download 15.1 again and reinstall. It needs to be build 25 which will be 0025.

It's 0024, but I just downloaded it like 2 hours ago!

Yay!!!

It works.

Thanks much Dwaine!!!

For the rest of you Windows guys, to check the full version number, download the installer, unzip it and then right-click on the executable, select "Properties", click the 'Details" tab and you'll se the complete full version number.

Happy Grading . . .
