I will say that BMD really does need to make it more explicit and obvious on the dongle packaging just how important it is to record the dongle serial number in a safe place. When I purchased a new R14 dongle, the serial number was just a tiny little sticker on the back of the box, which could be mistaken as a simple stocking code. This was also the case when I bought my original R7 dongle.
It’s unfortunate that BMD is making it difficult for people who no longer have their packaging, because they never made it clear to the people who originally bought just how important it was to not discard the packaging.
