It’s like constantly driving on the wrong side of the road. And in a moment when you need to do a focus pill you’ll second guess which direction you have to go...

I feel the same about the Tilta Follow Focus units I have. I have the Tilta (FF-T03) Single-sided DSLR Follow Focus and the (FF-T06) Tiltaing Mini Follow Focus. They both pull focus in the wrong direction compared to others. And, you can't reverse the direction.
Both units when mounted on the camera and lens focus close when you pull away from the camera towards the subject, and focus far when you pull towards the camera. This from what I know is the opposite of every other focus unit.
The Tilta Nucleus M is the only one that allows you reverse direction. However, now my muscle memory is screwed up by the manual hand units.
Either way, your analogy of driving on the wrong side of the road is spot on.
